The Week of November 15th 2011

Sabbatical

Due to a high volume of writing responsibilities and deadlines along with many teaching, speaking, and ministry obligations I will have to take a sabbatical from my consistent weekly blog writings and posting. I will make an entry now and again as time allows. For those of you with whom I correspond personally and/or mentor via the web this will in no way effect our ongoing relationship and correspondences. Lord Willing I will return to my weekly posting as soon as the Lord makes the way; until then God bless you all.

F/U Question–Regarding the Transfiguration and Second Coming – The Week of November 8th 2011

Follow-up Question to last week’s question-

Re: Question about Matthew 16:27, 28 - Transfiguration and Second Coming

On the Matt 16:27

Mine uses the words "for the Son of Man is going to come in his Fathers glory with his angels and then he will reward EACH PERSON according to what he has done."

I used the judgment word to cut down on writing the whole thing down. In my mind, that means a judgment of sorts. And he also says each person. He sounds like He is talking about his second coming. It cannot be that it happened yet, so how can it be that one or more of the disciples have not tasted death?

Follow-up Answer to last week’s answer-

Re: Question about Matthew 16:27, 28 - Transfiguration and Second Coming

Again, I will reiterate some of the things I previously mentioned:

Verse 27:

Judgment and recompense or reward is not the same thing. Just as discernment and judgment is not the same thing.

Here is an example: We are told by Scripture to discern another person's actions but we are also told by Scripture not to judge another person’s actions. Scripture NEVER contradicts itself therefore, we have to look and examine the meaning in a deeper way to understand the difference. We can discern someone's actions without judging him or her.

Scripture often talks about judgment and judgments, as there are more than one; this that Jesus speaks of here is not a judgment.

The word "judge" never appears in the definition.

Here is the definition from the Greek so you can read it for yourself:

591. ajpodivdwmi apoádidoµmi, ap-od-eed´-o-mee; from 575 and 1325; to give away, i.e. up, over, back, etc. (in various applications):— deliver (again), give (again), (re-) pay (-ment be made), perform, recompense, render, requite, restore, reward, sell, yield.

Jesus in verse 27 is referencing His Second Coming in my belief as well. If you go back to verse 21 in Chapter 16 and read through to verse 13 in Chapter 17, you will see that Jesus touches on a variety of issues but does not cover them exhaustively. When reading Scripture it must always be examined in context and against other Scripture. Jesus touches on His crucifixion, persecution, the need and cost of serving Him, His Second Coming and His transfiguration. You must look at each individually as well as a whole.

In verse 28, I believe this is a reference to the transfiguration, which happened six days later [see Matthew 17:1-13]. When Jesus mentions that "there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom" He was letting them know that all this stuff is going to happen yes, but some of you will get a chance to see how it is going to turn out in the end because I will show you My Victory, Me in My Glorious Kingdom. Then Jesus went on to showed Peter, James, and his brother John what He would look like after His death, resurrection, ascension to heaven, and return to earth at the final judgment also known as the Second Coming.

Question–Regarding Transfiguration and Second Coming – The Week of November 1st 2011

Question Submitted:

Re: Question about Matthew 16:27, 28 - Transfiguration and Second Coming

In Matt 16: 27-28 26- Christ tells his disciples that he will return in his father’s glory and with the/his angels and there will be judgment.

27- Christ tells them that some of them will still be alive when this happens.

Right off the bat I went Hugh? What? I went to get my bible that is a study bible to see what it had to say. It says that some people think that this happened at the transfiguration, others think it was the resurrection and the ascension, and yet others believe that it was at Pentecost.

I am still at a loss. Yes, it could be anyone of those IF there had been judgment. In verse 27, it says that when he comes back there will be judgment. None of the three theories contains any judgment.

What are your thoughts on this?

Answer:

Re: Question about Matthew 16:27, 28

Verse 27: I do all Scripture research in the Greek and Hebrew based on the words used in the King James Version of the Bible. Both in the King James and New King James, in this verse the word judgment is not used. The term used is "he shall reward" KJV and "He will reward" in the NKJV. This of course brings different results. Not punishment but recompense. You have to be careful about some translations the meaning is distorted. I have done a lot of research on Bible Translations and own most all of them. Many Bibles in this verse use the term "repay" which is okay but "judge" used such as in the Living Bible and New Living Translation misses the mark in meaning based on the Greek. The 1890 Darby Bible and 1901 American Standard use the word "render" which is okay as the word appears in the Greek Definition but the word "judge" never appears in the definition.

Verse 28: I believe this is a reference to the transfiguration, which happened six days later [see Matthew 17:1-13]. Jesus showed Peter, James, and his brother John what He would look like after His death, resurrection, ascension to heaven, and return to earth at the final judgment also known as the second coming. A preview of sorts of what we will experience one day when He return at the second coming. Whether we are alive or in heaven already, we will still experience seeing Him in His Full Glorious Victory.

Question–Effects of thoughts and words on our lives. The Week of Oct. 25th 2011

Question Submitted:

“Do you believe that we can control our lives, but that things we think and say? And if we keep it positive then we will stay positive? I think that just leaning harder on Gods word is my answer. I need to read it more.”

Question:

“Do you believe that we can control our lives, by the things we think and say? And if we keep it positive then we will stay positive? I think that just leaning harder on God’s word is my answer. I need to read it more.”

Answer:

I do believe that the things we think and say can effect and affect our lives in big ways. I do not believe they control our lives unless they become what are known as a stronghold in our thinking. I do not believe you can think yourself into “anything.” I believe what we think and believe must line up with God’s Word in order to manifest in our lives. God is no magic genie. We do not just think what we want into existence. We get our thinking in line with God’s Truth, which is found in God’s Word. I agree that leaning harder on God’s Word is your answer and that reading it more will help you dramatically. You also need to recreate your thinking and inner self to reflect the principles and truths that you find in God’s Word. That means time and effort on your part. What you must honestly answer is, “Are willing to invest the necessary time and effort?”

An added note on thoughts:

In order to keep our thoughts from straying into areas that God knew would not be fruitful He gave us these verses to use in disciplining our thinking. In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 He is telling us that if the thoughts that come into our mind do not line up with what God has given us as the Truth in His Word, we are to disregard them. Every thought we have should be examined against what we know to be true based on God’s Word, character, wisdom, will, Truth, and principles. Then, when we are having ugly thoughts or thoughts which God would not wish us to have, He tells us in Philippians 4:8 not to waste our thoughts on anything less than, what He describes in this verse. Yes, He is saying to control our thoughts.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

In this verse, God is asking us to keep our minds focused on certain things. If we are focused on these things what might be the affect upon the mind and thoughts?

How do you know what God wants you to do? - The Week of October 11th 2011

Question Submitted:

How do you know what God wants you to do?

Answer:

This often only comes through trial and error.

1. Make sure your relationship with Jesus is real and you belong to Him. Ask Him, it is that simple.

2. Before seeking to hear God in prayer on a matter you have to first check your motives before you pray and make sure you are asking God for direction regarding what His Perfect Will is for you and not just what you want.

3. Listen to that still small voice inside which tells you what to do. Write down what it tells you. Writing the information down is vital since our minds have a way of altering things later on to suit our wishes, circumstances, and desires.

4. Measure what you have heard against God's written Word, the Bible. They will never contradict one another.

5. Ask God [at first] for confirming signs that you have heard Him correctly. Write down the sign once it comes.

6. Then in the end seek confirming counsel from another who is walking closely with God.

These are the simple ways to work on hearing from God correctly. You will not always get it right but with practice you will get better.

A question regarding husbands and marriage. - The Week of October 4th 2011

Question Submitted:

A question regarding husbands and marriage.

Do you think each time they fail us that they lose heart in attempting to please us?

Answer:

I would have to say yes I do believe they lose heart to some degree. When they try and fail they get a little more disheartened and then it is harder to even make the effort the next time. I would have to think that although they might feel that way it is our job as a wife to build them up in the things that they do right. If we do a good job at that then there will be balance, and their hearts will be renewed and strengthened.

Question - How to Discern God's Guidance - The Week of September 27th 2011

Question Submitted:
When you want something or want to do something real bad, something that on the surface is not bad.  Moreover, you have different emotions about it how do you discern between what Gods is telling you to do and the devil is trying to get you to do?

Answer:
Without a specific example of the “something” referred to in the question this can be a hard question to answer.  Because we use so many factors to discern if the prompting and leading we are sensing is truly from God, Satan trying to trick us, or even just our own desire.  There are some things to keep in mind however, when trying to discern which it might be.

ý  God will NEVER under any circumstance contradict His written Word, the Bible.  If whatever we are prompted to do does not line up with the truths found in God’s Word, it is not God prompting us.

ý  God will not contradict a previous personal command He has given us.  If God told us something or gave us an answer on something one week, next week He will not give us different answer.  He will at times have us do something for a period of time then later have us stop, but He will not contradict Himself in what He guides us personally through Rhema Words from Him to do.
Numbers 23:19 NKJV
19   “God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

þ  We will have peace about whatever it is that we feel lead to do.  God will not lead us into something we do not have peace over.  We may feel a bit scared, inadequate, or intimidated but we will not be at spiritual unrest over the matter.  If we have spiritual unrest, we should question whether God is the source of the prompting.
John 14:27 NKJV
27“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  (Jesus speaking)

ý  If confusion is present that is a sign God is not influencing that part of the decision.

1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV
33For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints

þ  We need to make sure our hearts long for what God desire and that we seek Him in every decision. Scripture tells us He will guide us if we let Him.

Proverbs 3:5,6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
      And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Shall direct -
as found in the Hebrew language to mean the following -
3474.      rv'y:
yaÆshar, yaw-shar’; a prim. root; to be straight or even; fig. to be (caus. to make) right, pleasant, prosperous:— direct, fit, seem good (meet), + please (will), be (esteem, go) right (on), bring (look, make, take the) straight (way), be upright (-ly)

þ  God tells us exactly in His Word how to obtain that information we need to make wise godly decisions.

James 1:5,6 NKJV
5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

From the Greek Language we can know -

wisdom,  4678
4678.      sofiva soáphia, sof-ee´-ah; from 4680; wisdom (higher or lower, worldly or spiritual):— wisdom
o      God provides the information we need both for the world and for the spiritual life. Any and all information needed for living and following should be found by seeking God for His godly wisdom.  Making each of our decisions based on His wisdom will ensure our abundance in life.

liberally,  574
574.        aJplw`" haploµs, hap-loce´; adv. from 573 (in the obj. sense of 572); bountifully:— liberally.
o      There is no desire on God’s behalf to withhold information from us that we need.  He will grant us any form of godly wisdom we need, if we will only ask. The problem comes in two areas.  One, we do not ask. And secondly, we ask - then we doubt what we believe God to be telling us.

wavering.  1252
1252.      diakrivnw diakrinoµ, dee-ak-ree´-no; from 1223 and 2919; to separate thoroughly, i.e. (lit. and refl.) to withdraw from, or (by impl.) oppose; fig. to discriminate (by impl. decide), or (refl.) hesitate:— contend, make (to) differ (-ence), discern, doubt, judge, be partial, stagger, waver.

Here is where the rubber meets the road. Once we have heard from God regarding His godly wisdom for us, we must not depart from the course He has set before us. However, for many we hear from God, then fear sets in and doubt takes over.  We begin to tell ourselves things like, “What if that was not God I heard”, “What if I am wrong about what God said exactly or what I heard”, or “What if something or someone other than God was speaking to me.” Before you know it we are so confused and filled with so much doubt about what we should or should not do we become paralyzed with fear.  That paralysis leads to lack of productiveness, and lack of action taken, which leads to lack of abundance, growth, and change in our lives. Once we have heard from God, what is His wisdom for us, along with the duration of time in which He is asking us to invest in the matter; we should move forward despite any second-guessing.  Will we make mistakes, yes, but if our hearts are sincerely seeking to do God’s Will according to God’s Wisdom, God will take care of any mistakes we make.  Ask Him what to do, and then do it despite the little voice of the Wicked One who wants to make you doubt.

Here are some great Scripture references, which can be studied on the matter of making decisions -

Question Submitted–Re: Use of the title Prophet or Prophetess-The Week 9-19-11

Question Submitted:
What do you think of people who insist on the title of Prophet or Prophetess being added as a prefix to their name whenever anyone for any reason refers to them?

A friend of mine told me about such a person (a “friend” of hers).  I was just wondering what other people thought about it.

Also, I’m referring to people that you know personally not the ministers or leaders in your churches.  This woman is a personal friend of my friend and they don’t even attend the same assembly.  However, she insists that she be referred to as Prophetess at all times.

Answer:
You have to find that balance in life between not judging peoples actions but making sure, you discern their actions.  The church as a whole would be in better shape today had people been willing to ask questions like those that you are asking, discern people’s actions, and speak up.
One should neither "hide from" nor "advertise" their calling as a prophetess or prophet, but instead they should allow their fruit to be the proof.
In my own personal growth on this matter and in watching and learning from others, I have been able to discern a great deal on this matter.
Yes, I am a Prophetess, Called by God, Ordained by the Church, Received the Mantel as such from the church, I embrace the calling, and I accept the title.  However, I do not wear the title and did not always embrace the idea.  From what I have seen among REAL prophets / prophetess many, if not most, of them did not embrace their calling at first.  The reason being they understood their calling and all it involved, knowing it would be an extremely difficult job to embrace [topic to long for this question]. Therefore, often the hallmark of a true prophet or prophetess is their desire to not "advertise" their mantel all the time.  Now on the other side of the coin.  Someone who wants to advertise the idea they are a prophet or prophetess all the time, demanding people call them such, and signing it after their name regularly may well be someone who is finding their "worth" through their calling or a gift they believe they have obtained from God. This is very dangerous and these people are headed for a fall.  It is about God and a person’s relationship with God, not any gift or calling God gave that person.  When a person makes it about the gift or calling God will deal with that and fast.  In addition, a person with a poor self-image will have a gift of prophecy let's say and MISTAKE being able to use that gift on a regular bases as being a prophet or prophetess.  This is the case a great deal today.  People do not mean any harm but they believe because they have the gift of prophecy that they are a prophet / prophetess and this simply is not true.  At times these are Wanna-Be's and other times this is just ignorance of the actual difference between the gift or prophecy and the mantel of a prophetess / prophet.  Most servant leaders do not need to be called prophetess / prophet all the time, they know who they are, they need not have you to tell them.  I remember when I first started out operating as a prophetess I tried to discourage people from calling me such.  I came to realize for some people it is important to do so. The reason I did not want them to refer to me that way was because I knew it was unnecessary.  You see when you are the REAL DEAL per say, your reputation speaks for you; you do not have to do so.  When you speak, it holds all the authority of Christ for you are speaking for Him, you are speaking TRUTH and truth is the final authority in any situation.  Therefore, when dealing one on one I would not even use terms like, "Thus sayeth the Lord", or "I have a word for you" or "The Lord told me to share with you" [these statements scream LISTEN TO ME] and you see because I was / and am the real deal people knew and know when God is speaking through me whether they want to acknowledge that they know or not.  If I needed to stress over and over that  I have a Word from the Lord, maybe I do not have the authority of a Prophetess and do not have a word from the Lord after all.  Now in a congregational setting when a prophetess / prophet is giving a Rhema Word, that is handled different and a more formal way of communicating that message is required.  If one must do a lot to convince someone they are a prophetess / prophet they just may not be one.  When we have questions and red flags are raised in our spirit we need to seek God and seek answers because their often is a problem.  When it is appropriate, we should use the title that God has given us - that would not be ALL the time in private and public settings.  Again, if we need to use the title ALL the time perhaps we are not even convinced of who we are in our calling from Christ and/or we may have a major self (God) worth problem.  Sad to say, many people minister because they need to minister  not because people need to ministered to.
Where the calling of a Prophet or Prophetess is concerned along with someone who is a part of the five-fold ministry it is -
A- A direct calling from God, that comes from God FIRST.
B- It should be confirm-able by other sources of spiritual people / leaders.
C- This should be followed by acceptance of an ordination and mantel so the individual is accepting the responsibility and accountability that comes with the title, calling, giftings, and office.
Generally, in that order is how it will develop.

None of this means one must strut around like a peacock wearing their title as a billboard around their neck; nor does it mean that they shun in any way or form away from acknowledgment of their title and the responsibilities that come with the title.

As one operates in their calling, they will mature and these things will not be such an overblown issue.

Also - keep in mind when the references in the Word of God are made about “judging” they are in various contexts.
**one is judging with a sense of condemning
**another is using spiritual discernment
Make sure which is which when using/referencing your Scriptures for it is a delicately balanced issue.

A Prayer in Memory of and for 9-11

Father God You know so many lives changed on that horrible day ten years ago when hate won out over love and evil had it moment in the sun. We know that You know the why and what is needed now, today, these ten years later among all who have been affected and all those in our country. I ask for Your healing balm to cover this nation and the hearts of all the wounded that they may be made whole once again. I ask for peace in our country and for peace within the hearts of all who reside here. Restore the hope of those who lost hope on 9-11 and grant them the freedom that only forgiveness can bring.

In Jesus name I ask and pray,

Amen and Amen.

Satan's Fall - The Week of August 23rd 2011

Satan’s Fall

Question Submitted:

Where in the Bible does it talk about Satan being thrown out of heaven?

The Answer:

Please always look up the Scripture Text for yourself. The answer can be found in Isaiah 14

Isaiah 14:12-15

12 “How you are fallen from heaven,

O Lucifer, son of the morning!

How you are cut down to the ground,

You who weakened the nations!

13 For you have said in your heart:

‘I will ascend into heaven,

I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;

I will also sit on the mount of the congregation

On the farthest sides of the north;

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,

I will be like the Most High.’

15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,

To the lowest depths of the Pit.

Q&A Forum - When to Stand for the Truth

When to Stand for the Truth

Question Submitted:

I have a question that has weighed heavy on my heart. If you know that someone is lying (to groups of people) about XXXXXXXXX because you were there when it happened, what should you do (if anything)?

It really upset me to sit and hear the story retold in a way that I know did not happen, because I was there. Also, several people are being deceived to believe a lie for the benefit of the storyteller. I wanted to believe that the person telling the story just simply forgot and maybe truly does remember the story the way that they are telling it but I know that the lie is deliberate. The lie benefits them and makes them look good.

So, my question is: What should I do or say (if anything) about this un-truth being established and perpetuated?

The Answer:

Your obligation is to Christ and Truth, first and foremost. We participate in a lie when, we allow one to be believed. You should first approach the person directly and make sure you are not mistaken. If you are not mistaken then ask them to correct the situation. If they do not correct the situation, then let the people know the truth. If you have the courage to do it in a forum where the perpetrator of the lie is present or will know about it, do it that way. This helps the people you are trying to get the truth to, know that you are not just talking about the person behind their back trying to stir up trouble, but that you are standing for truth and therefore not afraid to confront the person telling the lie. Be loving and kind, yet firm.

Righteousness a Choice? – The Week of August 1st 2011

Righteousness a Choice?

There is the engrafted righteousness of Christ through His atonement on our behalf.
Then there is the act of righteous living which is a daily choice; yet, a choice we would not desire to make or be able to make without the grace of God in our lives.

This is a hard topic that most people get confused over.

To answer a question here...
“Pride is what makes them think it is their choice and their will, right?”

I believe more than dealing with pride we are dealing with peoples misunderstanding and confusion over how to communicate what they are sensing and feeling on this issue. As I said it is not easy. Most people don’t deny it takes the grace of God to live a godly life, they also know they need to make a choice to be obedient to God and God’s Word in order to allow that godly life to manifest, hence, their reason for referring to it as a choice. I think they do understand that God is behind the choice and the desire but they don’t communicate that well. Then there is that much smaller percentage with whom it is pride and living righteously is more an act of the flesh brought about by self-will instead of an act of obedience brought about by love for God and through His grace.

“Gather My saints together to Me,

Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” NKJV

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. KJV

Psalm 50:5

Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 12:48 PM

Will My People just hand over My Creation to evil and sin or will they begin to see that unhealthy tolerance and political correctness is not godly love, is not advancing My Kingdom, and is not My Will. Arise and raise among yourself the banner of unity, love, and courage; then you, My Children, those called by My Name, will be ready to raise the Standard of Life and Living I set forth in My Word. Repent of your apathy and begin to move toward godliness that My Creation and your world might not be completely consumed by evil before its time.

“Gather” in the Hebrew Language means:

622. to gather for any purpose; hence, to receive, take away, i.e. remove (destroy, leave behind, put up, restore, etc.):— assemble, bring, consume, destroy, fetch, gather (in, together, up again), × generally, get (him), lose, put all together, receive, recover [another from leprosy], (be) rereward, × surely, take (away, into, up), × utterly, withdraw.

“My saints” in the Hebrew Language means:

2623. from 2616 kind, i.e. (religiously) pious (a saint):— godly (man), good, holy (one), merciful.

2616. to bow (the neck only [comp. 2603] in courtesy to an equal), i.e. to be kind; also (by euphemism [comp. 1288], but rarely) to reprove:— shew self merciful, put to shame.

“together unto Me; those that have made” in the Hebrew Language means:

3772. to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication to destroy or consume; specifically to covenant (i.e. make an alliance or bargain, be freed, make a league

Daily – The Week of July 12th 2011

Daily...

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

The mercy I have toward My children is immeasurable. It will never end or wane. It will be their each time they are in need. I will forever be faithful to them. They must not measure Me by man’s standards. Man will fail them – Man will give up – Man will let go of them; I however am not Man and I will never fail them, give up on them or let them go. I love My children and they love Me. I love with a perfect love they love with an imperfect love. But I desire their love with all its imperfections. I provide rest for My children during which I renew their body, mind and spirit. My mercies are always present; the sense of them is greater in the morning when you are refreshed. You start your days with a new sense of purpose and peace. That is My renewal and My mercies being poured out upon you as you sleep. You will not be consumed for I will bring renewal during the night. For I am your Faithful God!
